MFP scan

Select this function when you want to process a paper document scanned from an MFP. Selecting this function allows to select 'on MFP' in the Permission Settings of the General Settings, so that the application appears on the MFP.

Scan Color Mode

Color mode of the document to be scanned.

Selecting B&W (two tone of Black & White) options will reduce scanned file size, but it is recommended to select Grayscale or Full Color options to improve reading accuracy, such as when processing barcodes

Original Sides

Side of the original document.

Document Orientation

Direction of document loading on the exposure glass or ADF. If you select Unreadable Direction, the document must be placed with its top edge facing to the left.

Scan Resolution

Resolution to use for scanning the original. Image quality improves as the resolution increases, but the size of the scanned data also increases.

For accurate OCR and barcode reading, it is recommended to select 300 dpi or higher.

Document Size

Size of the original document.

It is recommended to set (and lock) the document size to ‘A4’. Document sizes other than A4 may not be correctly processed.

Manual Density

Density of the scanned image. The colors in the scanned image become darker the lower value selected and lighter the higher value selected.

Scan Method

Use this function when you want to scan several documents in succession using ADF. If you select 'Batch', you will be asked if you want to continue scanning the next document after you have finished scanning a document. Continuing to scan allows you to scan several documents individually and process them as a single job.
