Managing user permissions for Control+

You can set user permissions for scan and print. You can use these permissions to limit certain functions, if required. 

You can: 

  • limit functions on an individual user basis 

  • limit functions on a tenant basis

  • limit functions for a batch of users in the tenant 

If you are using the user authentication app installed before May 25, 2020, you’ll need to do the following steps to enable user permission setting:

  1. Delete all users from the address book:

    1. Log into MFP as an admin.

    2. Go to ADDRESS BOOK.

    3. Select all users.

    4. Delete.

  2. Make sure RSI Control+ Setup is the latest version. 

    1. If you installed Control+ from the Application Site:

      1. If Control+ is not displayed on the update list screen of the application site, Control+ is the latest version.

    2. If you installed Control+ from Cloud Setting app:

      1. Enable automatic updates to make sure you’re using the latest version. 

  3. Configure Cloud Settings

Types of user permissions

You can set user permissions when you need them. If you set permissions for all users in the tenant after setting user permissions on an individual user basis, the individual user permissions will be overwritten.

Copier user permissions

Specifies the colour mode for copier output. To allow use of all copier modes without restriction, select Colour / Two Colour / Single Colour / Black & White.

Restrict

The copier cannot be used.

Printer user permissions

Specifies the colour mode that is allowed to be used for printer output. To allow use of all printer modes without restriction, select Colour / Two Colour / Single Colour / Black & White.

Assigning user permissions on an individual user basis

You can assign permissions to use the multifunction printer/copier to individual users registered in the tenant. You can also assign permissions to a locked user.

  1. Log into General Setting Management of RICOH Cloud Service.

  2. Turn Admin Mode to On (the toggle at the top right). 

  3. Select General Setting Management. 

  4. Select User Management.

  5. On the Edit User screen, select Open on Set user permissions.

  6. Select the type of user permissions using the guidance above.

  7. Select OK.

Assigning user permissions on a batch basis for the tenant

  1. Log into General Setting Management of RICOH Cloud Service.

  2. Turn Admin Mode to On (the toggle at the top right). 

  3. Select General Setting Management. 

  4. Select User Management.

  5. Select the menu button. 

  6. Select Set user permissions for scan and print functions.

  7. Select the type of user permissions using the guidance above.

  8. Select OK.
